Xmas Outreach

It's that time of the year again, when the generosity of the Ingwelala Community is being called upon...

1. Vuka Ingwe Children’s Holiday Programme

Following on from the success last year's event, Ingwelala will be holding another Fun Day on Tuesday, 17 December 2019 for the visiting children of the Ingwelala Staff.

We have identified that education is of prime importance and we can play a small part by providing basic school stationary. Last year we were able to give each child a bag of age related school necessities, which ensured they were equipped to start the new school year. It’s these occasions that build a community spirit we can be proud of and it’s an exceptionally humbling experience to see how appreciated our efforts are.

You can help by providing cash or donating school stationary. Either drop them off at the Members AGM on Thursday, 14 November 2019, leave donations with Reception during your next visit to Ingwelala, or alternatively, contact reception or Belinda Scott (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for our banking details.

We are also looking for volunteers to help on the morning of 17 December and for Members to take the children on a game drive that afternoon. The game drive was an absolute highlight of the day, with all the children beaming with happiness. If you would like to volunteer, you can contact Belinda Scott directly.

With your generosity and help we are looking forward to making it another successful day and impacting the lives of these children in a positive way.

2. Umbabat Christmas Shoebox Campaign

Umbabat is also currently planning for their Christmas Bush Box campaign (similar to Santa Shoe Box).

The campaign aims to give all our counter-poaching unit rangers a gift to take home to their children over Christmas.

Furthermore, this year they will be extending it to all the under 6 years olds at Sigagula Children's Centre who don't get the privilege of going to the annual Christmas party as they are too young.

This brings the total number of boxes required to 26!
