Timothy Khoza joined the Ingwelala Conservation Team as a Gardener in 2013, assisting with maintaining the gardens and surrounds of the Ingwelala Admin Block and swimming pool.
He and his colleague Moses have their hands full trying to maintain the gardens with all the elephant activity in camp!
Timothy was born on 01 January 1970 in the Hoedspruit area. He is one of 8 children. His brother Nelson is also employed at Ingwelala as the Assistant in the Workshop. As a learner, Timothy attended primary school at Makgatlis Primary and high school at Tladise High School in the Befelsoek area.
Before joining Ingwelala, Timothy worked as a contract worker in the building industry. Timothy married his wife in a traditional ceremony. He and his wife have 2 children, a boy and a girl.
When asked about his working life at Ingwelala, Timothy said he enjoyed working at Ingwelala because of the bush experience and the fact that he continues to learn something new every day.
Lions are Timothy’s favourite animal. He admires these majestic animals because of their beauty and strength.
The Marula Tree is Timothy’s number one tree. He enjoys making Marula Beer from the fruit that the Marula Tree bears.
To relax after working hours, Timothy enjoys watching television, especially soccer. He is an avid Pirates supporter.
