Completion of various upgrades to existing structures...
Argyle Boma: Open again!
Following the elephant damage to Argyle Boma in April, we have been working tirelessly to get Argyle Boma back up and running as quickly as possible. We are excited to announce that the Boma has been completely re-done, and is now back open for bookings!
This was no easy task to achieve, as the fencing, roofing and all support structures were completely broken down and removed, and re-build from scratch, but finally it has been completed. We are really happy with the upgraded structure, and we hope that you will enjoy your time at the boma.
A massive thank you to the Maintenance team for re-building the structure, along with Nico Ras and Ruan du Preez for overseeing the project. A thank you as well to the Conservation Team for breaking the structure down and removing the debris.
Beacon Boma
Another project undertaken this month was adding some extra structural support to Beacon Boma. This was achieved through adding cross-beams to the decking structure, which was done by Ruan du Preez and Nico Ras.
Thank you to both of these gents for adding some support - we really appreciate it! We are looking at re-doing the structure at some point in the future, but for now the added support can give that extra peace of mind for anyone visiting!
Recycling Area Upgrade
Our recycling area has undergone extensive refurbishment through the month. An entirely new structure has been built to house our recycling centre, and we have also made changes to the interior, widening the space for a more efficient recycling space that can accommodate more waste and more waste categories. We’ve also added in a new drainage system. The final addition will be brand new signage, which is coming soon!
Thank you for your patience during the construction period while we used a temporary recycling/waste area - we really appreciate it. We hope you enjoy the new recycling space, we are very excited to make good use of it! T
Thanks again to Chameleon Builders for their hard work in making this space more functional, neat and clean. It is looking really fantastic! Remember, reduce, reuse and recycle, and thank you for your contributions towards our recycling efforts!
Shop Window Decals
Thank you to all that voted for our window decals in February - we really appreciate it!
The windows presented us with quite a challenge: for windows that large, the images have to be of exceptionally high quality. Unfortunately, this meant the original images that were voted for were not able to be used in the end, as the quality of the final product would have been affected. With that in mind, we chose higher quality images with the same “feel” to make sure we could get the best possible finish. We are really happy with the outcome. Special thanks to Paul Marsh, Tessa Woollgar, Josh Hibbett and Chad Cocking for their efforts in this regard.
